Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration lectures at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College

On Monday, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Local Administration Tawfiq Krishan gave a lecture to  scholars  of the 18th defense course entitled "Local Administration and the Role of Municipalities in Jordan's National Security", in the presence of the college’s commander and the head and members of the directing staff.

The Minister of Local Administration said that the municipalities are equal  for national security in crises and disasters through what they possess in terms of expertise, competencies, programs and equipment that give them the strength to be a true partner in protecting the homeland and its capabilities along with all state agencies.

Noting that the role of municipalities is not limited to the service development side, but rather they have a major role in the national political, economic, developmental, military, security, community and tribal security, because the heads, members and employees of municipal councils are the first real and civilian field reserve to support the armed forces and security services in wars, crises and disasters.

Emphasizing that the municipalities stood by the White Health Army during the Corona crisis with all their capabilities to limit the spread of Corona virus among citizens and were able to succeed in being a national partner in addressing the Corona crisis.

At the end of the lecture, an extended discussion took place during which the minister answered the scholars ’questions and inquiries
