A symposium at the National Defense College entitled the role of the Hashemite in defending and protecting holy sites in Jerusalem

On Tuesday ,A symposium was held at the Royal Jordanian National Defense College .a symposium entitled "The Role of the Hashemites in Defending and Protecting Islamic and Christian Sanctities in Jerusalem", in which the former Minister of Information Samih Al-Maaytah, Dr. Abdullah Kanaan, Chairman of the Royal Committee for Jerusalem Affairs, and Director of the Negotiations Coordination Office at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Affairs The expatriates, Fouad Majali, in the presence of the college commander, the head and members of the directing staff, and the scholars in the 17 defense courses. Dr. Al-Maaytah said that the Hashemite guardianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem is the most important political tool for preserving the Arab and Islamic identity of Jerusalem, and that Jordan's position on the Palestinian issue is clear and firm, as indicated by His Majesty King Abdullah II, may God protect him. Dr. Kanaan stated that Jordan's position is firm and stable in line with the Arab initiative and international legitimacy, stressing the role of Jordan in demanding an end to the daily Israeli attacks and violations in Jerusalem, and the position of the Jordanian government and civil institutions based on the royal directives that continue to provide all forms of support to the people in Palestine. Majali referred to the legal dimensions of the obligations of the Hashemites in Jerusalem, stressing that the Hashemite guardianship of the holy sites is legitimate, legal and historical . At the end of the symposium, an extended discussion took place during which the guests answered the questions and inquiries of the scholars.
